"My Oscars"

Anytime Colin LOVES something or someone, he starts to refer to it as "MY _____". We've heard "My Grammy, My Grandma, My Bekah, My Cindy, My Amy, My Hannah, My Wiggles" over the last few months. However, this weekend, all we heard was "MY Oscars"! (Isn't Oscar cute? He's 2 TOMORROW!!! Happy Birthday big boy!)

Anyway, this past weekend, my sister Megan escaped from deep house cleaning with her husband came to visit with her cute little guy Oscar. We have never had a cousin that is same sex and so close in age. Let me just paint a mental picture for all of you:
Weeks before the visit: Preparing Colin that Oscar was coming and working on SHARING.
Days before the visit: the girls could hardly get through a day, they had to know exactly when Aunt Megan was leaving, when she'd arrive, how long it would take her to drive here, how long were they staying, what would we do when they were here, what would we wear....you get my drift....

It was quite exciting to actually have them arrive. Instant friendship, instant fun....and of course, we had to snap some pictures. Matching PJs and then watching a movie, all cuddled together...each snuggling their own Curious George! (Am I the only one who thinks it is a little odd that both days, they were perfectly coordinated, and this being unplanned? Or that they both have Curious George animals that they sleep with?! Bizarre!)

Megan also caught a lot of pictures with her iphone...thankfully she had that with her or else we'd not have memories of the visit! In addition to loads of happiness and fun....it was also loads of chaos with 5 little kiddos running around! We even had a pretty intense injury when Jayna was trying to leap over a babygate!

Here are Oscar and Colin playing Little People...also known as "My People".
Did I mention that iphone that Megan brought with her? Well, it was quite the hit. Apparently the white version is much more cool than Andy's black version. Or maybe it was the games she has loaded onto it....below, if you look closely at the bottom right picture, you will see OSCAR working the iphone game. It was actually quite cute. And as you can see, all the kids were piled in around him....to the point that Colin actually had to lounge on top of Oscar!
We had grand plans of heading off to a pumpkin patch/ petting zoo.....and it was a VERY rainy day on Saturday. So, we decided to tackle Monkey Joes. All was great until the Monkey appeared. Ellie tried to show everyone else that the Monkey was ok....but she did not succeed! Great memories were jumping in the jumpies with the kids and taking Oscar down the "scary slide". That evening during dinner, he told us about that scary slide and the scary monkey many many times.......

And what would a blog post like this be like without VIDEO to fully experience the cuteness of the 2 boys? Ellie captured THIS video of the boys playing the piano....and then THIS video shows the crazy photoshoot in matching pj's. Colin is HYPER...but they did stay on the couch like they were told...

It was too quick of a visit....and we enjoyed every minute of our time together!
