What a Weekend!

Aren't those some happy relatives?!

Grandparents Day was Friday at the girls' school...for the "big" kids. Grammie still couldn't make the trek to WI, so we figured out a great plan:
Grandma went with Ellie and Aunt Rebekah went as a "Grand Friend" with Jayna to her class! The day was a very fun day; Rebekah thanked Jayna over and over saying "That was the most fun morning I've ever had!"

For lunch, we all went out to Fuddruckers....and determined that it was the NHCS "place to be"!

Friday night was also Jayna's 1st choir concert. This year, she is a part of the Badger State Girl Choir. Last spring, a friend of Ellie's gave her a brochure on the choir...and both girls tried out for the choir. During the summer, Ellie decided she's not quite into "choir", but rather prefers musicals and plays! Jayna absolutely LOVES the concert and was very excited that Grandma and Rebekah were staying to hear her songs!
The concert was called "I Love Chocolate"....which was really funny....because Jayna HATES chocolate! I can only imagine how hard it was learning these songs about something that you just can't stand! :) To hear snippets of the girls singing, click HERE and HERE.

The weekend continued on Saturday with a gigantic leaf raking day at our house. We had no idea last year when we bought this house how many leaves we would get in our yard! We miss the city of Appleton's "sweep them into the street" policy--we have to bag all of them!

Saturday night, Ellie had a special swim meet in Oshkosh--it was called the "Sleepover Meet"...and you can sleep over, if you desire. However, the difference in this meet is that it didn't even start until 8:30pm...but really, it started at 9:10pm! LATE LATE LATE! Ellie's last swim was at 10:05pm! Much later than her usual bedtime! Aren't these pictures/video wonderful??!?!?!?! (Grrrr....we did forget the camera at home!) However, she continued to improve her times and took 2nd in her heat for the 100 individual medly. It continues to be amazing to see how she has improved since last year. Suffice it to say, we are all exhausted today.

And today, we started bagging all of our beloved leaves....I think we're up to around 50 bags ...and we have about 1/2 of the leaves taken care of. It's quite the sight!

Finally, those of you who have visited us have always commented on our "park" we have in our backyard. Well guess what? The park is gone....we now just have our swingset and the trampoline! Who would have thought it would look so bare without the Prewitt's swingsets? As I type, Andy and Ellie and helping move their structures. At one time this afternoon, we had about 10 kids running in the backyard, playing tag, playing army, jumping on the trampoline...it is a beautiful day...and action packed!
