Week 7 was another busy week!
We started the weekend with a day trip to Door County. We love Door County! This time, we hit some of our favorite stores, ate lunch at Wilson's and then drove all the way to the tip of Door County! It was fun to see the huge ferry that takes people/cars across Lake Michigan!

On Sunday, Ellie participated in the last swim meet of the summer season. It was a super meet for her to swim! She swam 3 events, and below, you will see how she did in the 200 yd freestyle.

On Tuesday, Colin was sitting in the girls' jeep while I was watering flowers. Suddenly, I heard it GO! The next thing I knew, Colin was running toward me saying "Mommy! Car REALLY works now!" (Usually he sits in the jeep without the battery, so it never "goes" for him!) I pulled it out of the garage, turned the wheels all the way and off he went...around and around in a circle! On Wednesday, Andy and I celebrated our 15th anniversary!
About a month ago, the girls said "When are we going to Marlene's again?" My response was: "We were JUST there yesterday!" (I thought they meant Granny Marlene's house!) They clarified the need to get to the cake decorating store as they were planning something special for our anniversary. It was too cute--I drove them and hung out in the front of the store as they shopped for supplies to make something special for Andy and I! Here is the end result:

On Thursday, we noticed the weather was going to be hot and sunny...and we planned a day trip to Two Rivers to the beach of Lake Michigan. However...we talked to a few people and nixed our plans--right now, there are a ton of dead fish washed up on the shores of the lake! Fishy smell, dead fish to play around....not so appealing to our family! We made a last minute decision to try Sunset Beach in Kimberly. It is a man made lake (no fish!) complete with slides and a diving well!
The big girls jumped at the chance to swim for the deep water passes and all 4 kids had a blast digging in the sand. Colin discovered how fun the slides were and he now is more brave them we are comfortable with in the water! Time for serious swimming lessons!
