Most of you know that the girls attend a christian school. Last month, we were walking through Wal Mart when suddenly, the girls spotted the Mardi Gras display. They know NOTHING about Mardi Gras....and this is the conversation that evolved, JUST from those flashy Mardi Gras decorations:
"WOW....look at those beautiful EPIPHANY beads, Mom!!! This store must be a God store if they are selling such beautiful epiphany beads!...." Of course, *I* knew they were Mardi Gras beads and just smiled as we walked closer to the display. Suddenly, my readers saw words "mardi gras" and never experiencing those words, they sounded out the words as best they could. At that point, I told them that they were not epiphany beads. The response? "Well, they should be Mom! They are the perfect colors to celebrate the visting to Jesus!" Awww.
For what it is worth, here are the definitions of epiphany and mardi gras:
Epiphany: the celebration on January 6th of the Magi visiting baby Jesus. Mardi Gras: another word for "carnival, a festive season that occurs immediately before Lent, typically involving a public celebration or parade, combining elements of a circus, masque and public party.
I don't know about you all....but to me, epiphany and mardi gras are opposite ends of the spectrum!
NOW...for the "more"....
- Apparently the fancy teething toys are just not "right" for Colin....the tap shoes are MUCH more appropriate for soothing the sore gums!
- We have our puppet theater set up in the living room--the girls are LOVING entertaining Colin with their shows, as well as writing their program on the chalk board on the front of the theater. Ellie has been demonstating the cursive writing they are learning in 2nd grade and Ava is showing off her Valentine's Day painting creation that also is working well with the theater!
- Last Saturday, Katie went to a women's conference at New Hope--it was spectacular. Andy took all 3 girls to swimming, got them showered and all...and had plenty of time to build Lincoln Log creations!
Enjoy the photos!

Great photos! I had to LOL about the baby eating the tap shoe. And what a wonderful idea with the "you are special" plate! I had a huge smile about what your kids said about the beads. What sweet hearts!
Maybe the tap shoe teether has more to do with how C-Max feels about Ava's dancing!!! LOL
Ellie- your cursive looks beautiful! I can tell you have been working hard on that.
I love the Lincoln Log mansion too! It is super.
Happy end of Epiphany Season Glynns!
